About Us

Both Joan Shifflett (owner) and Kathy Boykin (director) are dedicated professionals that have devoted their careers to advocating for our seniors. They both have provided support for not only our seniors, but also their families in the Greater Richmond Area for many years.

Joan Shifflett, the owner of Always Best Care in Midlothian, has been helping seniors since 2010 and was voted “The Best In-Home Care Provider” by Richmond-Times Dispatch in 2024 as well as a number of years prior.

Joan’s devotion began in 2010 helping not only seniors, but the community overall. Joan has provided leadership in guidance to other organizations to include:

Kathy Boykin, Director of Allstar Care Solutions, has enjoyed successful careers in business and as an educator. She attended college, once again later in life, graduating #1 in her class, and was licensed to be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in
2018, specializing in older adults. Kathy joined Allstar Care Solutions as the Director in 2023. Kathy is proud to contribute her knowledge, skills and talents to the following
